Return type of trojan malware found on Mac computers
Researchers from antivirus firm Kaspersky said they had managed to find two new worm that attacks Mac computers.
Costin Raiu from Kaspersky Lab Expert states that the trojan is found to originate from the same variant, namely SabPub.
The first Trojan named Backdoor.OSX.SabPub.a. As with the previous trojan called Flashback, this malware is spreading through the exploitation of Java on the website and allows for control of the infected system.
This new Trojan was created about a month ago.
Fortunately, the malware is not a threat to most users for several reasons.
First, this trojan attack only the user who has been targeted by hackers.
Second, a malicious web site and domain are used to infect the Mac instructions, has been blocked.
In addition, Apple previously had an update to counter trojan Flashback.
In addition to removing Flashback, updates will automatically disable Java plug-in and Java Web Start when not in use for 35 days which means reducing the motion of SabPub.
The second type of trojan is a trojan that uses the classical method of attack / long. This Trojan does not invade through the website, but through a Microsoft Word document that is distributed via email.
Like the backdoor, trojan is also striking just Mac users who are targeted by hackers. Hackers may be targeting Tibet activists.
So, for Mac users around the world who are not related to Tibet activist organization, it does not need to worry about finding two new trojan on a Mac is.
Even so, the discovery of two types of trojan after trojan found one type of these is the fact that Macs are not immune to attack. Mac users should remain cautious against attacks, such as users of other operating systems.
