LG has revealed almost all the details concerning its third phone collaboration with Italian fashion house Prada, just ahead of its special launch event to be held later today. The original KE850 Prada was launched way back in 2007 and was followed by the KF900 Prada II in 2008. Now, three years later, the LG Prada 3.0 is the first of the franchise to crossover into smartphone territory, but has it got what it takes to standout in a very crowded market?

For a haute couture phone, the Prada 3.0 is rather restrained in the styling department, with a subtly textured rear panel and a simple, monolithic chassis design. But like every good Prada model should be, it’s slim at just 8.5mm thick. The front panel is dominated by the 4.3-inch NOVA touchscreen, boasting an 800 x 480 pixel resolution, along with a selection of four capacitive buttons underneath.

These should tell you that the Prada 3.0 is running Google Android, but it’s Gingerbread rather than the latest Ice Cream Sandwich version. Prada has had a hand in designing the custom UI used over Android, which appears to include monochrome icons and Prada-themed wallpaper. There is even a bold clock face which harks back to those used on the early LG Prada phones.

At the Prada 3.0?s heart is a 1Ghz dual-core processor from Texas Instruments, while an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p video recording sits at the top of the rear panel, which is joined by a 1.3-megapixel video-call lens around the front.  LG says the phone has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and HSPA+ connectivity too.

LG 3D Optimus comes August

Android phones increasingly heated battle in Indonesia. LG try to spread the latest threats via the 3D Optimus, a mobile phone with tri-dual world’s first full 3D.

LG 3D Optimus planned presence in Indonesia in August, by bundling packages of Telkomsel. The device offers tri-architecture of the world’s first dual-powered dual-core Cortex A9 processor 1 GHz with support SGX540 PowerVR GPU and 512MB RAM.

Tri-dual architecture in 3D Optimus has a sense that this phone uses a dual-core processor, dual-channel and dual-RAM. So that the resulting speed is claimed to be run very efficiently and more powerful.

If the mobile dual-core processor that has been circulating the market Indonesia is only supported by one of RAM, then the 3D Optimus will be found two pieces of RAM. So the process of working mechanism between the processor and the RAM can be very efficiently and smoothly.

“LG has become the first in introducing dual-processor via Optimus 2X, but LG has also become the first in introducing the concept of tri-dual, because it takes a super smartphone is not just speed but also efficiency,” said Cho Chorung, Senior Marketing Manager of LG Mobile Indonesia in his statement on Friday (07/15/2011).

The LG Optimus Me falls into the more affordable range of the Optimus line-up and is aimed primarily at those big on messaging and social networking. As an Android phone the Optimus Me comes with excellent support for social networks like Twitter and Facebook which are integrated directly into the phones interface. Other messaging options available include threaded SMS, MMS, email and instant messaging. Google Talk and Gmail are both supported out of the box, as is YouTube allowing you to enjoy streaming videos from the popular online service.

The Optimus Me, which is also known as the LG Pelican, comes with a 2.8″ capacitive screen which makes it a more compact handset than many other touchscreen phones on the market. This makes the Optimus Me much easier to carry around than some of the oversized high end devices and still provides plenty of screen space to enjoy video content and general web browsing. As well as supporting streaming videos the Optimus Me comes with fantastic video playback support, as well as support for a large range of music formats.
